Knob Creek Whiskey

The name “Knob Creek” is a reference to the “Knob Creek” area where the family distillery is located in Virginia. This region is a home of rolling hills, woodlands, and wetlands. It is also known for its small-town charm and its proximity to Charlottesville, the state’s second-largest city.

The distillery is located in the area near the banks of the James River, and its property backs up to the James River. This location allows for a slow-moving river to filter through the land, which is beneficial to the bourbon. It also means that the distillery has river access.

The distillery was founded in 1997 by the Knob Creek Distillery Company, which is owned by the great-nephew of the founding family. The brand quickly became a favorite of connoisseurs because of its “distinctive character and … fine, full-bodied” taste.

Today, the distillery is run by S. Craig Beam, who has been at the helm since 2004. The consistent quality in the whiskey has driven the brand to become one of the bestselling whiskeys in the world.
