Johnnie Walker Whisky

Johnnie Walker Whisky

Founded in 1820, Johnnie Walker is a Scotch whisky brand with a distinctive bottle and a slanty label. It has an iconic brand and is available in more than 180 countries. It’s the world’s largest premium whisky brand.

While you may be surprised to learn that the brand is actually owned by Diageo, it was originally owned by a Scottish grocer named John Walker. He opened a grocery store in the Scottish burgh of Kilmarnock. He began selling blended whisky in 1820. After his death, his son Alexander took over the business. In 1908, the brand was rebranded as Johnnie Walker.
