“Once upon a time, back in the days of long ago, there lived a small but proud community of whiskey makers in the hills and valleys of Kentucky. Now, these whiskey makers, for generations, had a unique history of making a special, unique elixir that would become known world-wide as Bourbon. Bourbon is the special spirit and soul distilled in the land of bourbon whiskey.
It all began in the mid-1700s; when a Scottish immigrant named Evan William and a group of other pioneers arrived in the area and started to settle down and build their homes. By the late 1700s, they had already started to perfect the art of making whiskey.
From one generation to the next, these hardworking whiskey makers began to set up stills and develop techniques to make the best whiskey they could create. They worked hard, night and day, to perfect the art of making whiskey, adapting their techniques to the environment of their new home.
They used pure spring water from nearby limestone caves, this would help to give their whiskey its unique flavor and smoothness. They also used white oak for their barrels which gave the whiskey its unique color and texture. As time went on, master distillers experimented and perfected the craft even more and what came out of their efforts was the unique spirit that we know and love today; bourbon whiskey.
At first, very few outside of the region had tasted this special whiskey. But, when veterans of the War of 1812 returned home from their time in Kentucky and began talking about this special elixir, word spread and more and more people wanted to try this delicacy.

In time, bourbon whiskey became the symbol of quality and tradition in the United States. It wasn’t long before the iconic brown bottles and labels with figures of white-tailed deer began popping up everywhere.
